Free Plans! Infinity Cube Coffee Table

This infinity cube is a bit of a mind puzzle when you first take a look at it.

The saddle joint is the most logical joint of choice for this. Theoretically, this could be done with reinforced miters.

Components of the same length are color coded but the joints differ in direction for the red, green and purple components.

Pay close attention to the male and female sides for each piece

I color-coded all the components so that you can see which ones are the same length. The joint orientation is different for some of the components color coded in the same color, so pay close attention to that.

Step by Step:

  1. Mill lumber to size 1.5in x 1.5in
  2. Cut 4 pieces for the green component.
    • Two pieces will have female saddle jopint on each end
    • One piece will have a male on one end, and female on the other
    • One piece will have two male ends

3. Cut to length 8 pieces at 15in for the red component. Pay close attention to the joint orientation.

• 4 pieces will have the male end oriented in the same direction

• 3 pieces have the male end on both ends but oriented 90º to each other

• One piece has a female and male end oriented 90º to each other

4. For the glue up it is easier to break it up into sections. Glue up the top and bottom sections first making sure they are square.

5. The purple component has the female end of the saddle joint 90º to each other on both ends

6. The blue component has the female saddle joint on both ends, oriented in the same direction.

7. Glue up the next two sections in preparation to be joined with the top and bottom.

8. Glue up the entire assembly, checking for square.
